Meet the People   Marisa Tranghese Underwriter Assistant Marisa was raised in Enfield, CT. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Child Psychology from Bay Path College in 2007, Marisa relocated to Niantic, CT to be closer to the beach. Marisa currently lives only yards away from Rocky Neck State Beach and hopes to never move away from the shore. She enjoys spending time with her friends, attending car shows, and going to concerts. Angela Dronen Underwriter Assistant Joining MGA in March 2008, Angela comes to us with a well rounded insurance background. Prior to her recent relocation from Lake Sinclair, WA to Madison, CT, Angela spent 7 years working as a Sr. Underwriter Assistant for State Farm, first working in personal lines and then moving into the world of commercial insurance. As part of her tenure at State Farm, Angela dealt first hand with on-site claims and relief efforts after Hurricane Katrina. No stranger to boats or marinas, Angela grew up on the shores of Lake Sinclair and enjoys bowling as well as outdoors activities, including rafting and hiking. Julie Upp Underwriter Assistant Julie started with our organization in 2004, supporting the Windward Marine Underwriters (WMU) yacht book. After getting married and living in Japan for 2 years, Julie relocated back to the states and found herself working with MGA once again. A graduate of Bowling Green State University, Julie has over 10 years yacht insurance and financing experience. Today Julie has shared responsibilities supporting both the WMU and MGA yacht books. Julie and her husband enjoy traveling, boating and working to preserve their 1906 Victorian home. Laura LeBlanc Commercial Underwriter Born and raised in West Hartford, CT, Laura LeBlanc joins MGA with over 27 years of commercial package and reinsurance underwriting experience. Laura started her insurance career with Aetna Casualty & Surety, where she worked as a Multi Line Underwriter, Marketing Rep and Select Sales Rep. for 11 years; she then spent over 9 years with USF&G/St Paul/Travelers in a variety of positions. Most recently, Laura was a Senior Middle Market underwriter at Hanover. Laura is a huge sports fan and is especially fond of college football. In her free time, Laura plays golf and tennis.
